Little Incrementisle Controls & Interface

Basic Controls

Little Incrementisle on Steam is designed for mouse-driven PC play on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The interface centers on clickable panels for villager assignment, construction, and sailing. There is no complex keybinding list — most actions are point-and-click with contextual menus on buildings and resource nodes.

Move the cursor over gather points, buildings, and UI tabs to see tooltips. Tooltips show costs, production rates, and prerequisites. Reading tooltips is essential because island modifiers silently change displayed numbers.

Villager Assignment Panel

The villager panel lists every recruited colonist and their current task. Click a villager or task icon to reassign roles. During events, this panel becomes your primary interface — raids and winter both require fast reassignment.

Recruitment buttons appear when housing capacity allows new villagers. Confirm you have food surplus before confirming recruitment. The panel usually shows consumption versus production in the same view.

Building Menu

Open the building menu to place structures on valid tiles. Grayed entries indicate missing resources or unmet prerequisites. Queue one critical building at a time on difficult islands so resources are not locked in unfinished projects.

Harbor structures appear in a dedicated section once unlocked. Track sail requirements here rather than guessing from memory.

Harbor and Sailing

The harbor panel summarizes resources needed to set sail. All requirements must show complete before the sail button activates. After sailing, you enter the island selection screen where modifiers and events are previewed.

Talent Tree Interface

Between islands, the prestige talent tree opens automatically or via a menu button. Click talents to spend points. Some branches show percentage bonuses that may display incorrectly due to known Explorer talent bugs reported at launch — verify by testing gather rates.

Performance Tips

Community reports mention 30 FPS caps during gameplay on some systems. Try disabling VSync and particle effects in settings. Gray screen on launch may require restarting the game or updating GPU drivers. Alt+Tab duplication bugs in borderless windowed mode are known — use fullscreen or restart if windows duplicate.
